Help: Mapping

Mapping

Canada411.caTM allows you to view maps for almost all listings in Canada, as well as for any entered Canadian location, independent of residential or business listings.

Map a Location
  • Click the Find a Map link on the home page.
  • Enter an address and get a visual map for that location.
  • From the map results page, provide a starting address to get directions to the location that you just mapped.

Map Features
The following features are available with all maps displayed in Canada411.caTM :
Zooming
  • Zooming allows you to descend to street level details on the map you are viewing, so that you will see all street names.
  • Note that as you zoom out on a map, the level of detail diminishes.
Panning
  • You can slide the visible area of the map in any direction (north, south, east, and west, as well as diagonally in any direction) by clicking on the Pan buttons (which border the map itself).
  • This allows you to see neighbouring areas on the same map.
Other Functions
  • 2D
  • 3D
  • Road
  • Arial
  • Hybrid

Individual Map
  • See the map on a Profile Page.
  • From either page, you can then enter a starting point address to get driving directions.

Mapping Results Page Listings
  • On the results page, you can see a map showing the position of all the listings on the currently viewed results page.
  • Each listing which has an address appears as a numbered dart on the map.
  • Those same numbers appear to the left of the listings on the results page so you can know where each listing is located.
