Help: Starting Your Search

Starting Your Search

The Find a Person Page allows you to search for addresses and phone numbers of residents of Canada.
Name or Phone Number Criteria
The Canada411.caTM main search box (Simple Search) allows you to search by Name or Phone Number. Canada411.caTM will try to match your search suggestions with residential listings of people in Canada based on the information you supply. In the Person’s Name field enter one of the following:
  • part of a last name
    e.g.: Smit
  • last name
    e.g.: Smith
  • first initial and last name
    e.g.: J Smith
  • first name and last name(s)
    e.g.: John Smith
    John Jones Smith
  • phone number
    e.g.: 416-412-5000
Tip: Compound Names
If a first or last name includes a space, try it without the space or with a hyphen.
e.g.: for La Rosa, try LaRosa or La-Rosa
for Jean Pierre, try JeanPierre or Jean-Pierre

Searching Tips: Tips for Starting your Search
  • Searches using a Last Name and only a first initial are the most effective. This decreases chances of spelling errors or variations.
  • If you can’t find the person you are looking for, try using only the first four letters of the last name.
  • If the last name contains a space (e.g. La Rosa), try it without the space.
  • If the last name is hyphenated (e.g. Covey-Jones), try using one of the names without the hyphen.

Location Criteria
For the location field you may enter the following:
  • City
and/or
  • Province
and/or
  • Postal Code
Examples:
  • “Toronto, ON”
  • “Vancouver”
  • “H3E 2A5”
  • “M5V”
